Whirlwind weekends seem to be happening lately. Not that I mind terribly much, but it certainly makes my school work schedule all the more crunchy...

C N Y
A cool turnout of 31 people for dinner, and fun was had by all. As I was busy floating from table to table, chatting and explaining what dishes were what, I forgot to take pics this time :O However, I know a couple ppl did take pics... so I'm kinda expecting copies :P Especially for when the prizes were divied out :D There was a lot of food, some people were lucky and nabbed boxes of leftovers. Aftewards a group of nine of us trundled over to Bubblicity for some liquid sugary goodness before calling it a night - it was lots of fun :)

BTW - the real CNY is Wednesday Feb.9th!! :D

Saturday night, unfortunately, Vario didn't get his massage class because the instructor ended up sick and it has been rescheduled to later in the month. So instead Vario read some comics and helped me move a bookcase down to the basement because Mom is now on a clean-up project, having purchased new office furniture. It also means that we're finally going to go through and clean up all the boxes in our storage area... who knows what's packed down there?! For dinner we went to hit up a new gourmet burger joint in town called The Works (warning: annoying website)
We tried to get a table at the Glebe location, but the wait was 45min, so we decided to hit up the Westboro one hoping for a smaller line up. No such luck, and without going into detail, we waited over an hour to sit. That really put our expectations up for the burger, and we were super hungry when we ordered so we got an appetizer too:

Poutine Martini - $6
A poutine martini, which is to say, a small bucket of fries with curdles and gravy also topped with onion ring bits. Pretty good, but I think we prefer the ESD poutine more. Vario didn't think there were enough curds either.

iced tea and a small milkshake
All drinks apparantly come in measuring cups, even small ones for my little oreo milkshake..mmmm.
They even had a PB&J milkshake! :O!!!

burger no.1
Ahh..what we were waiting for.. ze burger.

burgers no.2 and no.3
Two more burgers, one with rings and the other with sweet potatoe strings (french fries) which were really tastey.

After the terrible wait for tables, the burgers, unfortunately, were a let down. They were well spiced and very tastey, but DRY. Not juicey at all, nor cooked to medium-rare as their menu boasts (the 20min slow cook). I think the best items out of that meal were the milkshake, the rings (which were really big and juicy) and the novelty sweet potatoe fries. Otherwise, if I want a gourmet burger, I'm totally hitting up Groucho's in TO next time I'm down. And hey, they're cheaper and juicier gourmet burgers :d~~~~~

Well after the dinner ordeal, we finally made it out to LT&L's place for his housewarming and bday gathering :)

Dory hangin' out
Dory, their new kitty, hanging out through the bannister upstairs.

Dory from below
Another shot of her - she's so cute! And acts like a dog in that she luuuuuuvs her tummy rubbed :P

Eh voila, le boob cake. Made none other than by L for LT. We were so full from our dinner that we missed out on cake, but we did get LT to bite the nipple off the remaining boob. Unfortunately (or fortunately?!) that pic isn't on my digicam...

That was pretty much the weekend + a sunday brunch. It was all fun but I overspent this month.. whoops. Oh well, back to studying I, er, go. Yeah. Whee. Watch me go. Anyways, I'll post some pics later as I think this post is long and illustrative enough :D

Happy CNY! :) It's the year of the Rooster this year, and to be more specific the green (wood element) Rooster.

One day! One day! Next year is already iffy... Ottawa-wise anyways :O!
